March 24 The Luck of the IrishDavid and I have been keeping busy during the month of March. We celebrated St. Patty's on Greenville 2 weekends ago and then celebrated on the 17th as well. A friend from Brussels (Gillian) came into town so we had a great time catching up and consuming a few green beers (ok, maybe more than a few). The weather here has been very random - we hit a record high of 93 at the beginning of the month and yesterday and today we hit record lows, not to mention last weekend getting 8 inches of rain and see flash floods all in one day. I think we are ready for the heat! Last week we went to some March madness games and celebrated a friends 30th birthday. Enjoy the latest pictures from the month. March 07 Bowling!!!!!We had a team bonding bowling event last Thursday in Chicago. A good time was had by all - except i was by far the worst bowler there. It was nice to get out of the Texas heat for a few days and Chicago had the cold to greet me (went from 93 to 27). Check out the pictures from the night on my photo album!
St Patty's is here this weekend so i am sure i will have more to add next week! Stay tuned. February 23 2 months into 2006What have i been up to??????
Long time since i have updated this space. Jan./Feb was pretty slow - David traveled a bit and so did I, but for the most part we had time to hang out in Dallas and drink a little too much with our friends, as you will see from the photos posted.
Also went to MSN's Sales meeting in Vancouver - album attached as well. A good time was had, with events lke the Amazing Race , a winter wonderland on the top our Grousse Mountain and a kick a$$ after party to close out the week. Brought back 4 bottles of my favorite beer - Ephamere - impossible to find in US stores - well worth the challenge at the border! January 06 Closing 2005We had a busy end to the year, between Christmas parties and traveling!
We spent Christmas in Dallas - Christmas Eve dinner was spent at Megan's house and then we went to 11pm church service. We spent Christmas day at dads and then David and I boarded a flight to Maryland/Virginia. We spent 5 days visiting with David's family - brother, neices, cousin, dad, aunts and grandmother. It was great to see everyone, although I got sick at the beginging of our trip and am still fighting to get well.
On Thursday night we flew back to Dallas and then Friday monring boarded a flight to Vancouver to set off on our Whistler adventure. We were joined by long time friends Jesse and Amanada. We enjoyed a wonderful vacation - David skiied (I was too sick for the elements), it snowed every night. We had wonderful dinners. New Years eve we spent at Araxi, we ate at Sushi Village and our last night in town we had an elaborate dinner at the Bearfoot Bistro. Our first night in Whistler we ran into Pamela Anderson - David and Amanada spoke to her. Queen Latifha stayed at our hotel - but we never saw her.
Check out the pictures from these trips! We had fun, but it's always nice to get back home. December 09 30th birthdayI hit a milestone last week - yep, i am now in my 3rd decade - YIKES. My birthday was very eventful - David threw me a huge birthday party - the theme was the 80's. I was very pleasantly surprised by the % of people that dressed up for the party. Check out my pictures to get a slice from the night.
Another exciting note was my gift - I got a new car. It was a joint Birthday/Christmas gift - i love it!!!!! November 11 Kim's Bachelorette party in LALast weekend I went to LA for Kim's bachelorette party. It was a jam packed celebration with many activities planned. Friday night we chilled at the W hotel (where we stayed) pool bar to warm up for the evening. Upon check in we learned that Reece Witherspoon and Joaquin Phoenix were at the hotel for a press junket for their upcoming movie Walk the Line. They were on our floor b/c we stayed in a penthouse suite! We dolled ourselves up and had dinner at 930, the restaurant had several attractive out of work actors! After dinner we piled into cabs and headed towards the Roosevelt hotel, to the Tropicana club. The club was packed with celebrities – Paris Hilton and Starvos, Ashlee Simpson and entourage, Blink 182, Jenny Garth, and Joaquin Phoenix. The next day we woke up and went shopping on Robinson Street, we hit Kitson, Lisa Klein and Nanette Lepore, to name a few. While in LK we saw Punky Brewster. After an exhausting but successful day of shopping we had the shower in the hotel, complete with some extras (I won’t include those photos). The limo was waiting outside to take us to Koi for dinner – it was FABULOUS. Mekhi Phifer was having dinner a few tables over from us. We then proceeded to National – where most of the pictures were taken – Champagne always helps! All in all it was a great trip – however exhausting and expensive! October 19 Mid October updateWe have been busy this month. I'm posting a few pictures of last weekend - Marc Jacobs goodbye party and Drew&Julie's wedding. This week we will be celebrating Amanda's 30th, so I will post picutres of that too. Dallas is still hot - broke the record yesterday 94! Ready for it to cool down
More to Add now that the motnh is over. Amand'a 30th was a blast, we also enjoyed traveling with them to Colelge station last weekend and attending a Texas A&M game, they have so many traditions down there, i guess that gets them through the games they don't win - like last weekend!
I also went to the MSN AM Summit, it was a great time and met tons of new people. Check out all the new pics!!! October 13 First year of marriageDavid and I have successfully completed the first year of marriage. We celebrated by visiting the Boulders resort in Arizona. While there we enjoyed fabulous dinners, relaxing time at the pool, a hike through the rock formations of the region and a 50 minute couple’s massage - I highly recommend getting one! We also enjoyed wander through the art district in Scottsdale - allowing us to formulate how we would like to decorate our house. A few days after our anniversary I cooked a fancy dinner (finally used our china!) - Scallops in lime - red pepper sauce with creamy spinach and salad. For dessert we enjoyed a piece of our wedding cake (so delicious) and drank a bottle of Veuve Cliequot champagne.
We are excited what the second year of marriage will bring. Check out the pictures from our trip! September 30 September recapWe have had an eventful September - Ginni's wedding, Oktoberfest and Austin City Limits, check out the new loaded pictures for September September 02 chaosDavid and I are extremely sad about the devastation from Huricane Katrina. It is so hard to fathom what the people down there are experiencing. We are hearing that as many as 30,000 people could be dead. We are watching a red cross commercial right now and we are so frustrated by their lack of response that we want to give you to anyone but them. Anderson Cooper for CNN has been so incredible with his coverage form New Orleans and Biloxi. There will be a serious shake out of the government after their lack of response. We pray that those affected will be able to rise above. David loves New Orleans - he has missed only 2 Mardi Gras in the last 15 years. We've enjoyed Jazzfest and that fairground is completely destroyed. This is one of those times that will be remembered for the rest of our life. It is like September 11th all over again. |
